Prediction of forging force and barreling behavior in isothermal hot forging of AlCuMgPb aluminum alloy using artificial neural network
In the present investigation, an artificial neural network (ANN) model is developed to predict the isothermal hot forging behavior of AlCuMgPb aluminum alloy. The inputs of the ANN are deformation temperature, frictional factor, ram velocity and displacement whereas the forging force, barreling parameter and final shape are considered as the output variable. The developed feed-forward back-prop...
متن کاملForging Process Control by Additional Rocket Force
Technological processes such as forging, die forging, and pile driving are realized as a result of a collision between two bodies. After the impact the bodies’ energy transforms to plastic or elastic deformations of the colliding bodies. This paper studies both theoretically and experimentally the influence of impact parameters such as forces, accelerations, velocities, time and energy on defor...
متن کاملDifferent methods of forging; applications and obstacles
Forging is a manufacturing process that consists of shaping the metal using localized compression forces. The blows are delivered with a hammer (often an electric hammer) or a die. In this paper, different methods of forging (multi-directional forging, hot forging, near-beta forging, multi-axial forging, direct powder forging, warm forging and ring forging) are discussed. The main problems that...
متن کاملForging Ahead
Editorial Forging Ahead 'All I know,' wrote Seamus Heaney, 'is a door into the dark 1 .' Me too. The world of radiology is figuratively and perhaps, on occasion, literally just that. Our game is the image, not the written word. Pretty pictures. Yet, now we increasingly find ourselves integral to the medical paradigm. This, clearly, is no reflection on us, but underpins the requirement, primacy,...
متن کاملStability analysis for forging of porous bodies
The continuum theory of sintering is used for the analysis of the stability of forging of a cylindrical powder specimen. The constitutive properties of the powder material are assumed to follow a power-law creep relationship. Temperature-coupled linear non-uniform stability analyses are carried out. Stability maps are obtained for forging of copper powder components.
